La Fête Foraine des Tuileries

A few days ago, I took a walk near the Louvre & Tuileries Garden as it was a very warm evening. In summer time, there is a popular “fête foraine” or fun fair in the garden from end of June to late August. During this time, you can always see the Ferris Wheel, Roue de Paris, from a distance during the day & all lit up at night. I had never actually walked towards it before and seen any of the other rides up close. So I decided to explore.

It was such a fun atmosphere! So many kids (and adults being kids) on the rides & lining up for ice cream & crepes. I really felt like a kid too. I spend ages just walking around and looking at all the stalls & watching people getting on scary rides.

I just love how in France, summer is celebrated. The French always find a way to be outdoors in summer even in the evenings whether it’s a picnic by the Seine or a fête in a garden. I am going to make the most of summer while it lasts!
