Nuit Blanche Paris was held on 3 October 2015 and this year the theme was the climate. I went with my friend Chao & another one of his friends. We first went out to have some delicious Chinese food and then started the night at about 10 pm. First we headed to Hôtel de Ville where there was an installation “Ice Monument” of 270 blocks of ice in different colours, slowly melting and forming a final painting.
After this we headed to Gare du Nord where we saw “Maison Fond” a house tilted in front of the station. This was to represent the phenomena occurring in Nepal where houses are being destroyed due to the movement of earth and climate change. We then made our way to see a light installation called “Rose” near La Chapelle. It was a long queue to get but we made it! Also saw the laser installation “N_Polytope : Behaviors in Light & Sound”.
Later, we tried to see the ghost exhibition “Projet Fantôme” but the line was too long so we decided to go see “Spider Projection V2” & “Waterlicht” in Parc Clichy. It was a giant spider projected onto a building but looked so realistic.
Finally we walked along the Petite Ceinture abandoned train line which lead us to “Parsec”, a very cool light and sound installation after a 1.5 km walk around 2 am along the train tracks.
Overall, it was a great experience but it was very spread out. I wish I had a day off the next day, but I went to bed at 3.30 am and woke up at 7 am for work!
