Musée de Cluny also known as Musée National du Moyen Âge is a museum in the Latin Quarter in Paris with one of the largest collection of Medieval items in the world. It is in a spectacular gothic style building which was originally Hôtel de Cluny but was later made a museum. In my opinion, it is one of the most underrated museums in Paris. The museum is so well organised and all the items in there are absolutely fascinating to anyone interested in the Middle Ages.
The most famous items in Musée de Cluny are the Lady & the Unicorn tapestries. There is also a great collection of sculptures, medieval weapons & armour, jewellery and stained glass art at this museum. My favourite part of the museum was the chapel and it’s gorgeous ceiling. The sundial in the courtyard near the entrance of the museum is also not to be missed. It is not a huge museum but you can easily spend an 1.5-2 hours in here.
I took photos of some of my favourite artworks. Enjoy!
